Ingredient List

“Get ready to spice up your holiday with this Incredible Edibles Christmas Applesauce!”

Before you start the Incredible Edibles Christmas Applesauce recipe, you’ll need to make sure you have all the ingredients you need. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Apples: 6 medium sized apples, peeled and chopped
  • Brown sugar: 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • Cinnamon stick: 1 cinnamon stick
  • Lemon juice: 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice

Optional ingredients for variations:

  • Apple Pie Spices: 1 teaspoon of apple pie spice
  • Chocolate Chips: 1/4 cup of chocolate chips
  • Rice Cereal: 1/4 cup of rice cereal

All of the ingredients are easily accessible, and you may already have them in your pantry. Make sure to choose apples that are sweet and juicy such as Honeycrisp, Braeburn, or Jonagold. They give the applesauce an excellent texture and flavor. For this recipe, I recommend using a cinnamon stick to achieve a more prominent flavor, but you can also use ground cinnamon. The brown sugar will add a caramel-like taste to the applesauce, making it more festive. The lemon juice will add a tangy taste to balance the sweetness of the brown sugar. The optional ingredients add a fun twist to the traditional recipe. The apple pie spice will give it a lovely aroma and flavor, while the chocolate chips and rice cereal will add a crunch to the texture. Trust me; it’s worth trying!

The Recipe How-To

“The perfect balance of sweet and tangy, this applesauce is a must-have for your holiday spread.”

Now that we have all the ingredients ready, let’s get started on making this Incredible Edibles Christmas Applesauce. This recipe is easy to follow and will make your house smell amazing!

Step 1: Prepare the Apples

Peel, core, and chop the apples into small pieces. I recommend using a mix of sweet and tart apples for a more complex flavor. Set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Apples

In a large pot, combine the chopped apples, cinnamon stick, brown sugar, and a splash of lemon juice. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and tender. This should take about 15-20 minutes.

Step 3: Blend the Apples

Remove the cinnamon stick and use an immersion blender or transfer the mixture to a blender to puree until smooth. If you like chunky applesauce, you can skip this step.

Step 4: Add the Final Touches

If you want to get creative, you can add some cinnamon ornaments to the applesauce. Simply mix together some cinnamon and unsweetened applesauce until you have a dough-like consistency. Roll out the dough and use cookie cutters to make fun shapes like stars and Christmas trees. Bake the cinnamon ornaments at 200°F for 2-3 hours, or until they are completely dry. Once they are cooled, you can add them to the applesauce for a festive touch.

Step 5: Enjoy!

Once your Christmas Applesauce is ready, you can serve it warm or cold. It’s perfect as a side dish to your favorite holiday meal, or as a snack with some rice cereal or even as a healthy dip for apple slices. You can also use it as a topping for pancakes or waffles, and it’s also a great addition to baking recipes like apple pie, applesauce cookies, and even chocolate chip cookies!

Now that you have the recipe, go ahead and try making it yourself. You can even turn it into an edible gift for your friends and family. Just put it in a cute jar, add some homemade edible gift tags, and you’re good to go. Happy Holidays and enjoy your Incredible Edibles Christmas Applesauce!

Substitutions and Variations

“Say goodbye to store-bought applesauce and hello to homemade deliciousness.”

One of the best things about the Incredible Edibles Christmas Applesauce Recipe is that it’s easily customizable to suit your taste or dietary needs. Here are some substitutions and variations you can try:

– Sweeteners: If you don’t have or don’t want to use brown sugar, you can substitute it with honey or maple syrup. Keep in mind that honey and maple syrup have a stronger flavor than brown sugar, so adjust the amount accordingly.

– Apples: You can use any type of apples you like, but keep in mind that some varieties are sweeter or more tart than others. If you prefer a sweeter applesauce, use apples such as Gala or Fuji. If you prefer a tarter applesauce, use apples such as Granny Smith or Braeburn.

– Spices: The recipe calls for cinnamon sticks, but you can experiment with other spices such as nutmeg, cloves, or allspice. Just be careful not to overdo it, as these spices can be overpowering.

– Lemon juice: If you don’t have lemon juice, you can substitute it with lime juice or apple cider vinegar. The acid helps balance the sweetness of the apples and enhances the flavor.

– Add-ins: You can add other ingredients to the applesauce, such as raisins, cranberries, or chopped nuts. These add-ins give the applesauce texture and flavor.

– Texture: If you prefer a chunky applesauce, leave some apple pieces intact or mash them with a fork instead of using a blender or food processor. If you prefer a smoother applesauce, blend it until it’s completely smooth.

By experimenting with these substitutions and variations, you can create your own unique version of the Incredible Edibles Christmas Applesauce Recipe. It’s a great way to add your own touch to the recipe and make it your own.

One of the great things about this Incredible Edibles Christmas Applesauce Recipe is that it can be made ahead of time and stored for later use. This is especially convenient during the busy holiday season when you may not have time to prepare everything all at once.

When you’re ready to serve the applesauce, simply reheat it in the microwave or on the stovetop until it is warmed through. If the applesauce has thickened while it was stored, you can add a little bit of water or apple juice to thin it out to your desired consistency.

If you’re planning on giving this applesauce as an edible gift, you can also make it ahead of time and store it in jars or other gift-appropriate containers. Be sure to properly label the containers with the date of preparation and expiration date.

Incredible Edibles Christmas Applesauce Recipe

This is a wonderful natural flavored applesauce that is make with diabetics in mind–no sugar, all natural. I made this for a diabetic client–he loved it and then others tried it and also raved about its taste.

  • 2 kg apples, cored and chopped (Macintosh)
  • 1 cinnamon stick, ground to taste
  1. Core and chop the apples, leaving the red skin on.
  2. Place in a large pot with a small amount of water, about 4 ounces and cook down on medium heat till the apples are soft and mushy, occasionally stirring so they wont burn.
  3. When soft, take out and strain through a large stainer separating the skin from the sauce. Take a spoon and mash down the apples so that all the sauce will be reserved.
  4. Discard the skins.
  5. Refrigerate the applesauce for an hour then enjoy–the natural sweetness will be there and no sugar.
