Indore beyond street food…

There’s always another side to everything, be it a story, movie or a city, and I really feel I should talk about the other side of my hometown Indore. During the last couple of months, my friends from Mumbai and Delhi had timed their visit with my trip back home just so that I could take them around and make them experience the most amazing Street food. While doing that, I flooded my insta-stories with ‘bhutte Ka Kees’ and ‘garadu’ and all things good. Then, a friend asked and therefore I realized I may have not talked about the fancy fine dines from Indore at all.

When we were kids we used to look forward to birthdays and anniversaries because that meant we would be going out for fancy dinners! There are places which have retained their old school charm and probably will always have a special place in my heart. Of course, there are newer and swankier places that are making their own stories with good food and great ambience, but the my fascination with this place is unmatched. This blog-post is my ode to the five exclusive fine dine places in Indore

  1. Shreemaya, RNT Marg

Shreemaya, established back in 1979 is probably the most trusted restaurant in the city. I have had the happiest birthday memories from this place. They have cool hipster cafes for the youngsters called shreemaya Celebrity & Shreemaya Celebrations (Ab Road) but at the parent hotel at RNT Marg, it is all about classic dining experience. The service is impeccable! Food is always great and they do add lots of seasonal stuff on the menu.

The most amazing dish there is Murg Kasturi tikka that will tingle your taste buds.

  1. Sayaji – Kebabsville

Anyone who is currently living in Indore or have visited Indore ever can vouch for the hospitality and the food they offer. There’s something for everyone. From beautiful Awadhi food at Sanchi to fine dine Asian restaurant – chopstick city to the Rooftop Paradise – Mediterranean and everyone’s favorite Kebabsville. If you have been to Barbecue Nation and loved grilling your kebabs right on the table you’d love Kebabsville even more. You’d get the most succulent veg and non veg kebabs under the sky and there’s always amazing live singers adding so much charisma to the place. Jugalbandi Chicken and Dahi Ke kebabs are my favorite here.

  1. Sheesha Sky Lounge

Great food, beautiful rooftop setting, personalized attention, lovely music and did I say, great food?! Sheesha Sky Lounge has been everyone’s favorite since the day it opened its door for Indore people. It’s a perfect romantic-date place to indulge in with your partner. Exquisite décor with lip smacking food on your plate, this place offers everything you wish for.

  1. Ni Hao, Radisson

In the city, where a 65 year old authentic Chinese restaurant still exists; and is run by a Chinese couple, the love for Chinese food amongst Indore people doesn’t need any explanation. So when in recent years, Ni Hao opened and stayed as true to the south east Asian flavors and as authentic, needless to say, it’s a place of indulgence; go-to place for families, for offices aftermarkets and for always a good time.

  1. Red Maple Mashal

If you truly love food and the whole experience that comes with it, you must take a trip to Rau, less than an hour away from the city. The Red Maple Mashal resort is setup on hills paving way to most beautiful scenic view while you indulge in some delicious food. They have paid finest attention to details and serves multi cuisines with so much finesse. Book one of those premium tent cabana stay for the night on Saturday, it’ll be totally worth it!

As much as I love my trip to Sarafa Chaat Bazar, I love these little indulgences Indore has to offer! Speaking of indulgence, the Limited Edition Maruti Suzuki Dzire Allure has plush interior and enhanced comfort features like dual tone seat covers, elegant interior styling kit, stylish exteriors, and much more; now that completes the picture of a lovelier world. Don’t forget to check them out on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
