Sound Food 2 – Grilled Chicken Wrap + Fatboy Slim

It’s kind of funny how yesterday I wanted to  eat only healthy and nutritious food  to take care of my hemoglobin levels, stamina and weight issues and did a salad post and later in the  evening I succumbed to a rich drunken dark chocolate Tart! It was so brilliant so amazing that I died after eating it! :P

Back on track today with a healthy grilled chicken and pepper whole wheat wrap recipe. Today’s music for workout recco by Vicky, my husband is Rockafellar Skank by Fatboy Slim.. I think he tactfully chose the artist ;) :P

Marinate your chicken first, knead your dough.. both need resting time, so meanwhile you can move a little on the track :D Enjoy!

Grilled Chicken and Pepper Whole Wheat Wrap

You need:

1 boneless chicken breast

1 onion, sliced lengthwise

1 bell pepper (yellow/red)

1 tsp Oil

1 tsp salt

half tsp black pepper powder

1 tsp sauce of your choice (optional)

1 cup Whole wheat flour (Atta)

half tsp baking powder

You need to:

Prepare stuffing and wrap individually.

For Chicken Stuffing -

Marinate Chicken with salt, lemon and pepper for 30 min. Cook it on a grill pan or in oven (about 20 min. in a preheated oven on 180 C) Shred this grilled chicken into bite size pieces.

Roast bell pepper on open flame till completely charred, wash with cold water, take out the blackened skin, deseed and chop lengthwise.

Heat some oil in a pan, saute the sliced onions till golden, add chicken and bell peppers, Sprinkle Salt and Pepper. Additionally you can add BBQ Sauce, Worcestershire sauce or brown sauce here.

To make whole wheat wrap -

In a bowl, stir together flour, salt and baking powder. Pour in water; stir to combine. Mix in additional water and knead into a dough. Divide into 2 equal pieces, make a ball out of it. Cover and let rest for 15 min. Flour each ball well and roll into a desired size and thickness. Heat a tawa/skillet  over medium-high heat. Cook rounds until brown flecks appear underneath. Turn and cook other side.

Place half of the stuffing onto the cooked wrap and fold it into a roll/wrap. Serve with some mint yoghurt/chutney/Dip on the side.
